Built an AI interface that allows users to query my experience as a system instead of navigating static content.
Portfolios are static. People are not.
Most sites force users to navigate, scan, and interpret. I built an AI layer that allows users to ask direct questions about my experience, systems, and thinking.
Instead of searching for answers, users can generate them.
The interface was wrong.
Traditional portfolios are linear: pages, case studies, and static navigation.
This creates friction because users do not know where to look, information is buried, and discovery is passive.
The underlying issue is that the interface is wrong.
I turned portfolio content into a queryable system.
Converted portfolio content into a structured corpus of case studies, tagged concepts, and queryable information.
Built a dual search system with deterministic search and AI search so users can type keywords or ask questions.
Added an AI response layer that generates answers based on case studies, experiments, and thinking frameworks, then returns contextual answers, relevant links, and suggested exploration paths.
Search retrieves. AI reasons.
Direct search is optimized for exact retrieval through the indexed corpus.
Ask first retrieves relevant items, then generates an answer based on those retrieved materials.
This allows the system to distinguish between grounded, inferred, and unsupported answers instead of treating every prompt as equally valid.
The product is also the proof.
This experiment demonstrates product taste, system design, retrieval strategy, AI orchestration, and UX judgment in one interface.
It also shows a broader belief: most portfolios present information. I built one that responds.
